School at Work (SAW)

Program - 8 months

• Introduction to healthcare
  • Rapid review of essential basics necessary for success
• Becoming a Healthcare Professional
  • Intro to medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, medical ethics, organizational skills, and communication

• Patient-Care Technician
  • Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA)
  • EKG Monitor Technician
  • Phlebotomy
• Classes held in the evening and/or Saturdays
• Eligible to sit national certification exam for CNA, EKG & Phlebotomy after program completion
• Classes and clinicals held at Plaza Medical Center
• Program offered by The University of Texas at Arlington Continuing Education Department

• Hill College - 10-month program
  • Must be licensed as an LVN
  • Admissions in June

  • Admissions in fall semester of each year
